Sizwe Gcayi

FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Biography +
Sizwe Gcayi is an experienced corporate attorney and accredited commercial mediator. As the founding partner of SGA Law Africa, he leads a dynamic boutique corporate and commercial legal practice serving clients across a broad spectrum of sectors including public transport, media, mining, engineering, and organised business formations.

An admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IoDSA), Sizwe brings a principled, solutions-driven approach to boardroom leadership and corporate governance. He is also an accredited mediator, having completed the Conflict Dynamics Commercial Mediator Skills Training Course, he is well positioned to facilitate complex dispute resolution matters.

Before founding SGA Law Africa, Sizwe was a Senior Associate at Webber Wentzel, where he played a key role in the firm’s international trade law practice. His portfolio included successful representations in tariff applications, anti-dumping measures, and other trade remedies designed to protect and empower local industry.

He has advised clients on bilateral and multilateral trade frameworks, including GATT, SACU, the SADC Free Trade Area, and the SADC-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.

Sizwe also regularly leads high-impact legal projects and corporate transactions, helping clients unlock opportunities and manage risk across diverse sectors. His cross-boarder work and collaboration with international legal teams and regulators further position him as a trusted legal advisor in navigating complex regulatory and commercial environments.

Esethu Nyombo

Senior Associate

Biography +
Esethu is an experienced and dedicated lawyer specializing in employment law, alternative dispute resolution, and corporate and commercial litigation. He is committed to helping clients achieve their objectives by providing practical legal advice on complex issues. His excellent communication skills facilitate effective interaction at all organizational levels.

Mr. Nyombo possesses a strong track record in employment law, encompassing the review and development of policies and codes of conduct, chairing disciplinary hearings, drafting charge sheets, training employees on company policies, and representing clients in the CCMA and Labour Court. Esethu has provided legal counsel and support to both private and public sector entities and have successfully assisted clients in serious commercial disputes. As a certified mediator, he mediates both commercial and labour disputes.

Namhla Mzuku

Namhla Mzuku is an accomplished attorney and governance professional with extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance, and legal advisory services across both private and public sectors. She is a practising senior attorney at SGA Law Africa, a boutique legal practice advising clients on various commercial transactions, business rescue, and stakeholder governance frameworks.

Namhla has served in senior in-house legal and compliance roles, most notably as the Secretarial and Compliance Manager at Convergence Partners, a Pan-African private equity investment firm. In this capacity, she oversaw corporate governance structures, managed regulatory compliance across South Africa and Mauritius, led FSCA licence applications, and advised on Exchange Control, Anti-Money Laundering, general fund administration, and contributed to board-level legal and risk management, and policy implementation.

Namhla combines her practical legal experience with a strong academic foundation. She holds an Economics and Management Sciences Master of Philosophy in Taxation from the University of Pretoria, an LLB and a BA in Political Science and International Relations, both from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Certificate in International Trade Regulations from the World Trade Institute through the University of Bern in Switzerland. She has furthered her expertise through specialised short course in Tax Law and Business Rescue Practice, and she is a licensed Junior Business Rescue Practitioner registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission.

Her professional memberships include the Golden Key International Honour Society and the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT), where she is an affiliated member. Namhla is known her principled leadership, regulatory insight, and commitment to advancing sound governance practices in complex legal and commercial environments.
